The story to Gotham City Imposters is focused around two groups of wannabe heroes called "The Bats" and "The Jokerz" who are taking justice into their own hands in Gotham City and are dressing themselves up accordingly. The game is a multiplayer first person shooter so don't expect to find a single player mode at all, perhaps with the exception of the training mode and challenge modes.
Gotham City Imposters takes your standard shooter and tries to mix it up a little by offering a unique art style and customisation options. In terms of customisation, there are various "Costume Coins" to collect which allow you to purchase various types of clothing for your character as well as other customisation options including the gender, body size etc. There are many weapon modifications you can obtain including "red dot sight and grip" as well as "Gadgets" that allow you to navigate across maps in a variety of ways. One of my favourites was the "Spring Boots" which allow you to launch into the air to reach high buildings to make that quick escape from your foes.

Gotham City Impostors offers a few different modes in multiplayer for you to explore including Fumigation, Team Deathmatch, Psychological Warfare, Challenge Mode and Initiation. Fumigation is essentially your capture the flag type mode, except in this case you capture gas machines. Psychological Warfare requires you to capture a battery in the middle of the map and place in the enemies' propaganda machine and defend it for 30 seconds. Initiation mode is essentially the tutorial and Team Deathmatch is your standard game type that requires you to simply obtain the most kills possible.
Visually Gotham City imposters was very pleasing with a unique art style that reminds me of Team Fortress on the PC and Xbox 360. There is a great level of detail and the visuals are well presented with little or no slow down while playing.
Gotham City Impostors is as mentioned earlier is a multiplayer title. If you were fortunate enough to apply for the beta which ran for a few days prior to the games release, it certainly would have given you the opportunity to try out the game online before purchasing it. For me, I had this opportunity and I must say I was not hugely impressed. During the beta, matchmaking times were long and frustrating which made finding a match near impossible. However, when I did enter a match, the game was fantastic and enjoyable. However, I merely put my matchmaking issues down to the beta code. However the final retail builds which I later purchased also unfortunately suffered from the exact same matchmaking issues. Wait times (despite dedicated servers) were in excess of 15 minutes and on many occasions when a match was found, it would then attempt to start and would then kick you out. Coupled also with this was WBID sign in errors which prevented me from signing in to obtain unique bonuses and collectables. It was quite disappointing and not an experience limited to just me, almost everyone I know that owned this tittle or participated in the beta also encountered this experience. It's quite unfortunate.

Overall Gotham City Imposters was a title that I thoroughly enjoyed playing when I could actually find a match. The art style, game modes, customisation modes and general Batman universe made for a real winner in my mind. The gameplay online is fast and frantic and will have you wanting more. However, with that also comes the very real prospect of being unable to find a match due to matchmaking issues which unfortunately detracts from this title in a major way. It is also even more critical of a point given this title is purely a multiplayer online experience. Hence if you can find a match you'll love this title, however it's hard to recommend given the matchmaking difficulties which are a game breaker. Ultimately this is a great title and I do recommend it despite the matchmaking issues as they may affect some users and not others.
Gotham City Imposters is available now on XBLA for 1200 MS Points and also on the PSN and PC.

Overall:

...but consider at around 6.0, given that the game is fundamentally broken.
